 POLISHING AND MORE HAMMERING

Before we can start stacking bales the concrete floors needed to be polished.  Carlos and his crew were up for the challenge of our unique slabs.  Your normal house doesn't have quite the large number of threaded bolts and allthread sticking up out of the slab as ours.  They had to use small hand polishers to get up close to everything sticking up out of the slab.  This made it slow going in the beginning but once they had the edges done they brought out the big guns for the main areas.  They made quick work of it and were finished before noon.

They were racing to finish before the big monsoon storm hit ... but alas it took a hard turn to the east and never going north of I-10.

We look forward to watching these storms from the comfort of our porch during next year's monsoon season.

A few days later the mini excavator made an appearance to hammer in the holes for the support beams for the RV parking space next to the garage, the shade structure on the south side of the house, and the porch roof.  Isaiah did a great job given the tight areas in which he had to move.

And in the middle of all that we had the final two straw bale deliveries.  This brings the total number of straw bales on site to 260.

All tarped and ready to stack!
